Anna Dolan went to high school at Floyd Central, one of the top schools in Indiana in the performing arts. While there she was concertmaster, achieved gold ratings at ISSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest, a member of Floyd County and Louisville Youth Orchestras, member of the Indiana All-State Orchestra, and a member of ‘Celtic Fire,’ a fiddle ensemble. Her senior year of high school Anna traveled with the United States Youth Ensembles on a European Concert Tour to Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Holland. Currently Anna is in her last semester as a music major with a minor in marketing at the University of Louisville on a music scholarship. She studies with J. Patrick Rafferty. She is also a member and Volunteer Chairman of the professional music fraternity Zeta Chapter of Delta Omicron. While in college she has been a member in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Orchestra the past three years. On March 8, 2007 she went with the UofL Symphony Orchestra to Carnegie Hall to perform ‘new music’ including Aaron Jay Kernis's Musica Celestis, Karel Husa's Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra, and Mr. Currier's eleven-minute Microsymph. Along with her classical training, Anna also plays old time, jazz, and Irish fiddling. She took mandolin and fiddling lessons from Jeff Guernsey, an awesome bluegrass musician who has toured with big names such as Vince Gill. While at UofL she continued her Jazz training by taking a semester improvisation course from Ansyn Banks. She has recently played with local groups in the area which have included Bourbon Baroque, Street Noise, and Better Than Bedlam. Anna also gigs regularly doing weddings, church masses, Christmas pageants, and other performances.
